Why you should still consider participation even if you do not live,
or love someone who lives in Strawberry Mansion

Strawberry Mansion Neighborhood and Homeowners Association (SMNHA) is committed to recruiting safe, sane, ethical, and consensual ally relationships with individuals, organizations, corporations, and governmental agencies outside of Philadelphia’s 5th district, the surrounding Philadelphia suburban areas, and outside of Pennsylvania to support the Strawberry Mansion area in its fight against the perils of economic gentrification, racial disparities, and social and environmental injustices. We are seeking ally partnership with those interested and invested in fighting for more equitable distribution of knowledge, resources, and advocacy. SMNHA solicits allies who are willing to serve as safe mentors in helping to identify best practices and lessons learned in equitable community development; and to help raise a voice for our neighborhood when there is no “seat at the table” for Strawberry Mansion residents to advocate for themselves. We are looking for allies who understand, or are willing to learn, when injustices and inequities happen in OUR neighborhood, to OUR residents, they should NOT be willing to stay safe and comfortable in their own. We welcome allies who wish not to ignore the current and historical oppressions of economic disadvantaged neighborhoods and those desiring to understand how these inequities has impact on ALL of Philadelphia County, its suburban neighbors, and humanity as a whole. Therefore, fighting with and alongside Strawberry Mansion uplifts us all, creating a more engaged, productive, enjoyable and safe environment for everyone.
